This committee works with the members to develop fun events that highlight how great Audubon Park is!
From sponsoring easter-egg hunts, to spring carnivals, block parties, fall pumpkin carving festivals, and holiday luminaries the purpose of this committee it to help create memories, traditions and lots of laughs and friendships!
This committee will also have the important work of making sure that all our neighbors who may have special needs are identified and supported through our Block Buddy program. This program will ensure that someone reaches out to those who live alone, may have medical or physical limitations that require assistance during storms or outages etc. .
Interfaces with the transportation department at the county and city level to understand the process of requesting traffic studies, speed calming options, speed table options et.
This committee will work with members to identify problem areas, educate the affected homeowners and determine participation in the calming device and liaison with the appropriate entity to start the process.
As the Metro-plan Corrine Drive project makes it's way through the process, APNA will be a voice and contact for our neighborhood interests.
We all know how great Audubon Park is and this committee will help share what our neighborhood has to offer.
Working with the Neighborhood and Fun folks, this committee will help get the word out about Audubon Park shopping and retail, entertainment, garden and house tours and other efforts to increase awareness.
This committee will also help plan events to raise funds to support the efforts APNA such as safety vests, Radar Speed Limit signs, community food bank, rentals of equipment and costs associated with the various social events etc.
Provides continuing support for this city recognized award winning program to educate our neighbors on safety, crime statistics, tips to enhance safety and reduce crime, interface with block captains, manage the various training programs for life safety as offered, coordinate national night out and other safety related programs as deemed helpful.
Additionally this committee will poll interest in establishing a Neighbor Alert SMS Text System to alert neighborhood subscribers on police and first responder activity and and appropriate alerts.
Interfaces with the appropriate city and state organizations to ensure that our neighborhood lakes are maintained, tested, stocked with appropriate weed controlling fish or treatments, ensure that education and programs to the neighborhood are provided to reduce runoff of leaves and chemicals
This committee works with the board and block captains to help spread the word about APNA and answer any questions to prospective APNA members.
They will also be instrumental in getting feedback from neighbors about areas of concern, improvements and suggestions and excellence, and kudo’s to those who help make Audubon Park such a welcoming place.
